　Euglena Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Mitsuru Izumo, hereinafter, Euglena) and Yaeyama Sangyo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Ishigaki City, Okinawa Prefecture, President) of the Euglena group : Yasumasa Shikiya, hereafter Yaeyama Sangyo) has completed the notification regarding feed use of food microalgae Euglena (Japanese name: Midorimushi, hereafter edible Euglena) on September 20, 2016. We will inform you that we have done so.

　In order to manufacture and sell feed that has not been used for livestock, etc., safety evaluation and feed manufacturers should be carried out as stipulated in the Law Concerning the Assurance of Feed Safety and Improvement of Quality (hereinafter referred to as the Feed Safety Law). Notification and notification of feed distributor notification are required.
　Euglena is conducting research to utilize microalgae Euglena, which contains abundant nutrients such as proteins necessary for animal growth, as feed. We conducted a safety test of edible Euglena for animals, and confirmed that the safety as feed is ensured and that it can contribute to the stable production of livestock products. Based on these test results, Yaeyama Sangyo, which manufactures edible Euglena in accordance with the Feed Safety Law, sent a feed manufacturer notification to the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries through the Yaeyama Livestock Hygiene Center, and Euglena We have notified the Governor of Tokyo of the feed distributor notification through the Tokyo Livestock Hygiene Center. With the completion of both notifications, it will be possible to manufacture and sell edible Euglena as feed.
　In the future, Euglena and Yaeyama Sangyo will secure further safety of the microalgae Euglena as feed, promote research on improving added value when used as feed, and feed. We aim to commercialize the use.
