　Euglena Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Mitsuru Izumo, hereinafter Euglena Co., Ltd.) is Chubu Plant Service Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, President: Motoki Fukasawa, hereinafter Chubu Plant Service), Mie Prefecture ( With the cooperation of Governor: Hidetaka Suzuki and Taki-cho (Mayor: Yukio Kubo), the "Biofuel Algae Production Demonstration Project" (hereinafter referred to as the "Demonstration Project") was implemented, and the largest fuel microalgae culture pool in Japan was constructed. We would like to inform you that it has been carried.

　In the "Demonstration Project", the Taki Crystal Town (Location: Mie) will utilize the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's Resources and Energy Agency "2016 Microalgae Fuel Production Demonstration Project Cost Subsidy" (hereinafter referred to as "this subsidy") to create a fuel microalgae culture pool. It will be constructed in Taki-cho, Taki-gun, Taki Prefecture, with the aim of establishing large-scale, low-cost production technology for microalgae for fuel.
　Specifically, a facility for researching and cultivating microalgaes for biofuels will be constructed in the area adjacent to the woody biomass power plant owned by Chubu Plant Service, and exhaust gas, wastewater and heat exhausted from the woody biomass power plant will be constructed. By using as a carbon dioxide source and energy required for culturing microalgae, we will work to reduce the cost of producing microalgae for biofuels. The demonstration will start in October 2016, and the culture pool will be scaled up to become one of the largest fuel microalgae culture pools in Japan with a total area of 3,000 m2 or more in 2018.
　Since this "demonstration project" has been implemented with the cooperation of Mie Prefecture and Taki Town, Euglena Co., Ltd., Chubu Plant Service, and Mie Prefecture and Taki Town have signed an agreement.

<About the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's Agency for Natural Resources and Energy "2016 Microalgae Fuel Production Demonstration Project Cost Subsidy">
　This subsidy will establish a production technology for domestic biofuels derived from microalgaes by partially subsidizing a demonstration project aimed at establishing a domestic biofuel production system that utilizes indigenous microalgaes in Fukushima Prefecture. The purpose is to build a stable energy supply and demand structure. Euglena Co., Ltd. was adopted as a subsidy company for this subsidy in May 2016.
