Euglena Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, President: Mitsuru Izumo) will open its first overseas base, "Bangladesh Office", on October 1 (Tuesday) in the People's Republic of Bangladesh (Bangladesh). .. The office is located in the Gulshan region, the center of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, where embassies from various countries gather.

■ Background of establishment
When I visited Bangladesh in the summer of the first year of the University of Tokyo (1998), the president of our company, Izumo, said, "There is rice, but there are few other foods, and nutrition is biased, causing malnutrition. I faced the nutritional problem of "I'm doing it." After returning to Japan, in order to solve the nutritional problems in such poor countries, I searched for nutrient-rich and easy-to-transport foodstuffs in the university, and I met in the Faculty of Agriculture with abundant nutrients (59 types) of both animals and plants. It was "Microalgae Euglena (Japanese name: Euglena)". After that, in August 2005, Euglena was established with the management philosophy of "Health for people and the earth", and in December of the same year, the world's first successful outdoor mass cultivation of microalgae Euglena. Currently, it is sold as a supplement or food in Japan.
　The possibility was suggested by the implementation of the ODA project survey in Bangladesh, which was carried out from December 2012 to March 2013 with the budget of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Bangladesh office was opened. Going forward, as the first step toward realizing our management philosophy, we plan to work on solving nutritional problems in Bangladesh while building a cooperative system with local companies and NGOs.

1. 1. We will act as a starting point for popularizing foods containing Euglena a microalgae, aiming to solve nutritional problems in Bangladesh.
2. We will build cooperation with companies and NGOs in Bangladesh in anticipation of future marketability.
