　Hiroshima Motor Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration Promotion Council (hereinafter "Hiroshima Ren"), Euglena Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Mitsuru Izumo, hereinafter "Euglena"), FamilyMart Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Takashi Sawada, hereinafter "FamilyMart"), Ueda Oil & Fat Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Daito City, Osaka Prefecture, President: Ryoji Ueda, hereinafter "Ueda Oil & Fat Company"), Yoshikawa Oil & Fat Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sano City, Tochigi Prefecture, President: Chifuku Yoshikawa, hereinafter "Yoshikawa Oil & Fats Co., Ltd.") is based on the "Hiroshima" Your Green Fuel "project" * 1 (hereinafter "this project"), a demonstration project plan in Hiroshima aimed at expanding the spread of biofuels. We have built a value chain from the production and supply of raw materials for generation biodiesel fuel (hereinafter referred to as "Euglena biodiesel fuel") * 2 to its use, and have begun using this fuel in the Hiroshima area.​

　In recent years, global warming countermeasures have become an increasingly important issue, and especially in the automobile industry, _{in order to reduce CO 2} emissions related to automobile use, "energy sources are created and used as power for automobiles. It is important to have the idea of "Well-to-Wheel (from fuel mining to vehicle driving)" in consideration _{of CO 2} emissions in "all processes up to".

　GREEN OIL JAPAN aims to make Japan an advanced biofuel country in June 2018 in order to expand the spread of carbon-neutral biofuels instead of fossil fuels in order to realize a sustainable automobile society. We launched this project in collaboration with Euglena Co., Ltd., which promotes the declaration. With the addition of FamilyMart, Ueda Oil and Fat, and Yoshikawa Oil and Fat, we have built a value chain from the manufacture and supply of raw materials for Euglena

　Euglena Corporation, which participates in Euglena biodiesel fuel manufactured will have the same performance as petroleum-derived fuel, and in June 2019, it will use fuel in G20 government mobile vehicles. Was carried out. And this year, while receiving a part of the project cost from Hiroshima Prefecture's "energy saving activity promotion subsidy", Euglena biodiesel fuel for some public cars and company cars owned by each organization that supports fuel use Has started to be used. The roles of each company in this project are as follows.

・ Hiro Jiren: Coordinating the entire demonstration project, promoting the utilization of local resources as a raw material for biofuels, promoting renewable energy-related businesses in the region, and participating in fuel supply to companies and organizations that use Euglena Euglena biodiesel fuel is used in public cars and company cars of Hiroshima Prefecture, Hiroshima City, and Mazda Co., Ltd. (4 units in total)

・ Ueda Oil & Fat Co., Ltd .: Manufacture of recycled oil and fat using used cooking oil provided by FamilyMart stores in Hiroshima City (pretreatment for fuel production)
・ Yoshikawa Oil & Fat Co., Ltd .: Recycled fats and oils manufactured by Ueda Oil & Fat Co., Ltd. are additionally processed and provided to Euglena

　​_{In the future, in addition to cultivating microalgae in Hiroshima utilizing CO 2} emitted by businesses in Hiroshima Prefecture, we will consider using the microalgae residue for fertilizers and feeds for agriculture, livestock and fisheries. We aim to build a local production and local consumption model together with the local governments, companies, regions, and companies that support this project in Hiroshima.

　Together with the companies that support this project, as well as local governments, companies, and local communities in Hiroshima, we will work together to make Hiroshima an eco-friendly and green city. Through the realization of these goals, we will contribute to the SDGs "GOAL7: Affordable and clean energy" and "GOAL13: Concrete measures against Climate Change." In anticipation of such a future, this project will strive to popularize biofuels.

Euglena Co., Ltd., which promotes the "GREEN OIL JAPAN" declaration to make Japan an advanced biofuel country, and Hiro Jiren jointly launched a project to manufacture and supply carbon-neutral biofuel raw materials. We are working to expand the spread of biofuels with the aim of building a regional revitalization model that supports the entire value chain up to the Hiroshima region.

* 2 Euglena biodiesel fuel
Euglena biodiesel fuel made from fine algae fats and oils and used edible oil has no problems such as food competition and forest destruction compared to conventional biofuels made from food such as corn, and is a fuel. An excellent automotive liquid fuel that is carbon-neutral without the need for additional supply-related infrastructure.
