　Isuzu Motors Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, President: Masanori Katayama, hereinafter "Isuzu") and Euglena Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Mitsuru Izumo, hereinafter "Euglena") are derived from oil. We are pleased to announce the completion of the next-generation biodiesel fuel that can replace light oil 100%.
　Prior to the full-scale supply of next-generation biodiesel fuel in the future, the supply of next-generation biodiesel fuel Euglena to Isuzu will be completed by the end of March 2020, and the use of this fuel will be used at Isuzu's Fujisawa Plant shuttle bus. It will start on April 1, 2020.

Isuzu Bus to be equipped with next-generation biodiesel fuel

　In recent years, Climate Change countermeasures have become an important issue, and many companies around the world are working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Under these circumstances, Isuzu and Euglena concluded a joint research agreement in 2014 for the practical application of next-generation biodiesel fuel that can be used without burdening the vehicle engine even if the content is 100%. We have been working together as a DeuSEL ^®​ ​ ^*1 project ^*2. And this time, after about 6 years, the next-generation biodiesel fuel has been completed.
　In 2018, Isuzu conducted a performance test ^*3 on the next-generation biodiesel fuel prototyped for research and development by Euglena, and the performance of the next-generation biodiesel fuel is equivalent to that of petroleum-derived light oil. I'm sure.

　Euglena completed construction of Japan's first bio-jet/diesel fuel production demonstration plant (hereinafter referred to as "biofuel production demonstration plant") at the end of October 2018 in order to advance the research and development and production of next-generation biodiesel fuel. At the same time, with Isuzu, Yokohama City, Chiyoda Corporation, Itochu Enex, ANA Holdings, and the Hiroshima Automotive Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration Promotion Council as supporters, we have launched the GREEN OIL JAPAN project, which aims to make Japan an advanced country in biofuels. )”, aiming for the full-scale operation of a biofuel manufacturing demonstration plant and the supply of biojet and diesel fuel. With the completion of the next-generation biodiesel fuel, we will soon begin full-scale supply of next-generation biodiesel fuel to companies that support the "GREEN OIL JAPAN" declaration.
