-Confirmed improvement of growth inhibitory effect on bacteria-

Euglena Co., Ltd.

Euglena Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Mitsuru Izumo, hereinafter "Euglena") is Omikenshi Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, President: Mihide Ishihara, hereinafter In collaboration with "Omikenshi"), we have succeeded in developing rayon * 1 (hereinafter "Paramiron rayon") using paramilon, a unique ingredient of the microalgae Euglena (Japanese name: Euglena).
This developed technology was granted a patent (patent number 6654264) on February 26th as the issue date.
* 1 A type of regenerated cellulose fiber made from wood pulp. Even if it is thrown into the soil, it is decomposed by bacteria and has biodegradability that disappears in about 2 months.

Paramylon rayon is made Euglena, into rayon, which is a regenerated fiber derived from cellulose. It has been confirmed that paramylon rayon has a water swelling property (water absorption) equivalent to about 114% and a dyeing degree (color dyeing easiness) equivalent to about 125% compared to conventional rayon. In addition, it has been confirmed that it has an improved growth inhibitory effect on bacteria, and is expected to be used for clothing.
Euglena has been engaged in health care business including food and energy / environmental business such as biofuel development / manufacturing by utilizing microalgae such as Euglena based on the basic strategy of 5F * 2 of biomass. I did. The paramylon rayon developed this time is the Fiber on the 5th floor, and will promote the further utilization of Euglena Euglena will continue to promote businesses that utilize microalgae such as Euglena
* 2 Biomass has five uses in descending order of unit price: Food, Fiber, Feed, Fertilizer, and Fuel. Biomass has the highest unit price to the lowest. The business strategy is to reduce the production cost of biomass and expand the availability of biomass by gradually developing the business.
