Euglena has the characteristic that it absorbs carbon dioxide by photosynthesis, generates oxygen, stores carbon in the body, and proliferates. In this demonstration project, a culture facility will be installed adjacent to the thermal power plant at an overseas candidate site suitable for culturing Euglena, and euglena culture will be demonstrated using carbon dioxide and waste heat emitted from the thermal power plant. .. Feasibility studies and technological development for the commercialization of biofuel and feed Euglena production by starting with a test-scale culture and gradually expanding the culture scale according to the demonstration results. Demonstrate. The Republic of Indonesia has been selected as the first test site for the culture demonstration from the viewpoint of production cost and culture environment, and we plan to continue to consider other candidate countries in the future.

 With the conclusion of this memorandum, the Company will conduct demonstration tests on the isolation, collection, breeding, and cultivation of local strains of Euglena, while ITOCHU will conduct research on candidate sites for the demonstration project, negotiations, support for procurement of materials, and sales feasibility studies of products. We support overseas expansion and commercialization.
