Euglena Co., Ltd. CFO's appointment as Director of Oriental Air Bridge Co., Ltd.
～ Strengthening cooperation with airlines at Euglena～
Euglena Co., Ltd.
Euglena Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Mitsuru Izumo) announced that Akihiko Nagata, CFO of the Company, was appointed as a director of Oriental Air Bridge Co., Ltd. (hereinafter ORC) on June 29. It will be announced.
ORC is a regional airline based at Nagasaki Airport that operates air routes connecting remote islands (Iki, Goto Fukue, Tsushima) and Kyushu (Nagasaki, Fukuoka, Miyazaki) in Nagasaki Prefecture.
The Company entered into a capital and business alliance with ORC in December 2017 (hereinafter referred to as the Capital and Business Alliance), and has become the third largest shareholder undertaking a third-party allotment of capital implemented by ORC. Through this capital and business alliance, the Company and ORC will provide ORC with bio-jet fuel to be produced at the bio-jet diesel fuel demonstration plant scheduled to start operation in the first half of 2019, and will be the first bio-jet fuel flight in regional aviation. We are building a cooperative relationship aiming to realize. We are also cooperating in the promotion of both brands, products and services, and the promotion of the remote island area of Nagasaki Prefecture, where ORC operates.
Nagata, CFO of the Company, is in charge of business strategy, M & A, financing, public relations / IR and management departments, promoted listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers in 2012, listing on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2014, and the establishment of the biofuel business division. We have been working to expand the business division. By assuming the post of director of ORC this time, while utilizing the knowledge of venture company management and biofuel field that we have cultivated so far, we will improve the brand image of ORC through the realization of biojet fuel flight and operate ORC. We will promote the growth of ORC by further strengthening cooperation such as promotion of flights and areas operated by ORC.
Euglena will continue to contribute to the aviation industry while steadily proceeding with the demonstration and production of bio-jet fuel.
