Euglena GENKI program, and the cookie distribution project is well underway.
I will report on the activity status in June.
1. We have installed a locker for storing cookies at the school.
The cookie storage locker is in Euglena color.We also held regular school visits this month. Approximately three months have passed since we started the GENKI program, and various operational improvements have emerged, and we are taking solutions as needed. For example, for the mouse problem reported in last month's activity report, we provided one locker for each school as a solution. A locker can store a total of 64 boxes (the amount that can provide more than 500 students with cookies for more than 2 weeks).
2. Conducting feedback meetings for parents
Euglena GENKI program is implemented and held a feedback meeting with our office members. Specifically, we explained and exchanged opinions on the following three points.
(1) Approximately three months have passed since the start of this program in April, and we exchanged opinions on whether there were any issues and changes among the children.
(2) Bangladesh, where the majority of the population is Islamic, will enter the Ramadan (daytime fasting) period for one month from July, so during the Ramadan period, Euglena cookies should be taken home and eaten at night. I taught. Also, based on the purpose of this program to improve children's nutrition, we would like the cookies to be eaten by the person to be distributed without dividing them by family members, and to return the empty cookie bag to the school teacher the next day. , I told the parents.
(3) This program has provided cookies to children in grades 1 to 5 so far, but each school requested that they be distributed to children in other grades as well. In response to this, he explained that from August after the end of Ramadan Euglena cookies will be expanded to the second grade of junior high school students.
After explaining and exchanging opinions on the above three points, in (1), parents gave feedback such as "financially helping" and "improving children's health". Also, from the parents who participated in the feedback meeting with us for the first time this time, the Euglena cookies are properly managed and distributed, and the height and weight of the children are measured to measure the effect. Some people said that they were very impressed to know that they would share the content with other parents who could not participate on the day.
3. Other
Euglena ・ Since the establishment of the Bangladesh office, various customers from Japan and abroad have visited us every month, and Japanese volunteer teams and local NGOs visited our office in June as well. In addition, the director, Akerzaman, took advantage of the opportunity to visit Japan and asked Japanese sponsors for greetings and activity reports.
