【2014年7月の活動報告】
It's been about four months since I started the Euglena Below is a report on the status of activities in July.
1. About program management during Ramadan (fasting)
July was the Euglena GENKI program started, and all Muslim office members also fasted and operated the program. Even at the elementary school where the cookies are distributed, teachers and older children fast during the day, so during the Ramadan period, we decided to have the children take the Euglena cookies home and eat them. Please eat one bag of cookies, and bring an empty bag to the school the next day. " Thanks to these results, we were able to continue the program as planned during the period.
2. Meeting with OBAT Helpers
OBAT Helpers is a US NGO that supports Bihari people (minority refugees who became stateless during their independence from Pakistan) in Bangladesh. There are 73 Bihar camps in Bangladesh and 300,000 Bihars live in them, but they do not have Bangladesh nationality and are not in a position to receive political services.
The GENKI program distributes cookies at five schools, one of which is the Bihar refugee who lives in the area around the school called GENEVA Camp, and the children of the school are children of the Bihar refugee. .. Currently, SUROVI supports 1st to 5th grade students, while OBAT Helpers provides all support for 6th to 8th grade students. This time, OBAT Helpers came to the meeting to expand the GENKI program to OBAT Helpers students. As a result of discussions, we will start distributing cookies to OBAT Helpers children from August.
3. Visit to the office of the director of My Mensing Medical University Hospital
On July 10, the director of the My Mencing Medical University Hospital visited our office and suggested that we provide the GENKI program cookies to patients in the hospital and investigate the health benefits of Euglena Our hospital has established the Kala Jor (Black Fever) Research Center for some time, and is conducting joint research with the University of Tokyo and JICA. This time, it seems that they got to know us about our company because of the University of Tokyo, and we plan to visit the hospital of the other party and proceed with the examination.
4. Other
In Bangladesh, there is a total of 12 years of education system, including 5th grade for elementary school, 5th grade for junior high school, and 2nd grade for high school. The GENKI program has been aimed at elementary school students (1st to 5th grade).
