【2014年9月の活動報告】
It has been half a year since we started the GENKI program in Bangladesh. Below is a report on the activity status in September.
1.First of all
This year, diplomacy is flourishing between Japan and Bangladesh. Beginning with Foreign Minister Kishida's visit to Bangladesh in March, Bangladesh's Prime Minister Hasina visited Japan in May. Then, as Prime Minister of Japan, Prime Minister Abe visited Bangladesh from September 6th to 7th for the first time in 14 years. This time, I had the opportunity to explain the Euglena GENKI program at the "Japan-Bangladesh Business Forum" held in the capital city of Dhaka and in which Prime Minister Abe also participated.
2. Visit to cookie factory with Euglena
President Izumo visited Nabisco Biscuit & Bread Factory Ltd., a local cookie factory that is outsourced to manufacture, to inspect the cookie manufacturing site containing Euglena Cookies made by Nabisco are currently distributed to 2,600 children in 11 schools and are an important source of nutrition for children's meals. 3. Japan Bangladesh Business Forum
As one of the events during Prime Minister Abe's visit to Bangladesh, the "Japan-Bangladesh Business Forum" was held on September 6 by JETRO of Japan and local government agencies.
From Bangladesh, the governor of the Bank of Bangladesh, the Minister of State, the Minister of Commerce, and other government and corporate officials will participate. A total of about 500 people gathered. We also participated in the business session and Euglena GENKI program.

4. Attendance at extended summits and dinners
After the Japan-Bangladesh Business Forum, the Japan-Bangladesh Extended Summit (Prime Minister's Office) and the Hasina Prime Minister's Supper were held at the Sonargaon Hotel, and Izumo, the president of the Company, also attended. The following day, on the 6th, a round-table conference was held between Prime Minister Abe and business forum participants. Prime Minister Abe said that he would like to promote economic infrastructure development, investment environment development, etc. in cooperation with the Bangladesh government for the promotion of Bangladesh's industry, and aim for mutual development.
5. Summary
Japan granted national recognition at an early stage when Bangladesh became independent, and has continued to provide economic cooperation even after independence, and the two countries have a good relationship. For this reason, the people of Bangladesh are very pro-Japanese. Euglena GENKI program and had the opportunity to explain our activities directly to Prime Ministers Abe and Hasina as soon as possible. I would like to continue to make my activities in Bangladesh more effective while taking advantage of such opportunities and with the support of local people concerned.
