GENKIプログラムの拡大と新たな現地メンバーの参加
【2015年6月 活動報告】

We are planning to distribute 1 million meals at elementary schools this year. To that end, in June, we increased the number of schools participating and the number of local members who helped with the GENKI program.

1.First of all

From May to June of this year, some schools running the GENKI program are closed due to summer vacation and Ramadan, which affects the distribution of cookies. The target schools of the GENKI program that we are implementing differ depending on the NGO organization during the summer vacation period. Summer vacation is from 1 week to 10 days, between mid-May and early June, depending on the school. In addition, some schools have been closed for a while since June 19th in Ramadan. On the other hand, some schools even in Ramadan offer classes.
In addition, as the number of new target schools and target NGOs increased, we started activities to hire local members from July 1.

2. Current status report of newly enrolled schools

We visit many schools that started the GENKI program in May of this year, and we are conducting training on basic data collection and document preparation from teachers. We also conduct hearings with children.
Small children take some time to finish, but they are all eating well. At the school of the new NGO organization, it is necessary to measure the effect, and the date of birth, which was a big issue, can be almost grasped.

The GENKI program is being implemented for 2,345 children in May to distribute the target number of 1 million meals this year, but in order to increase the number of children to be distributed, it will be a new NGO organization. I'm calling out.
I went to a school visit of Aparajoya-Bangladesh, one of the NGOs, which has an educational program in Dhaka. This NGO operates four schools and is attended by about 800 children.
We are also consulting with other NGOs and plan to increase the number of schools implementing the GENKI program.

From May to June, the number of distributions is less than planned due to summer vacation and Ramadan. With the goal of distributing 1 million meals this year, it is necessary to increase the number of distributions in the future.

4. Toward the recruitment of two new local members

We have decided to hire two members to support the expansion of cookie distribution and the back office (officially from July). Yusuf, who is a program assistant and is in charge of cookie distribution and effect measurement, and Roshan, who is in charge of accounting and finance work.
With the addition of two people, we will focus more on the GENKI program.
