GENKIプログラム新たな学校にユーグレナクッキーの配布開始のほか、
当社設立10周年祝賀会とグループ会議に参加
【2015年8月 活動報告】

Starting this month, 1,500 new students from five schools will participate in the Euglena We started distributing cookies to these five schools on August 2, and we have made great strides toward the target of distributing 1 million meals. Also this month, I and Azam, an office member, traveled to Japan to attend the event of the 10th anniversary of our establishment.

1.First of all

In August, we distributed a record high of about 130,000 meals a month. It was a great result for my new colleagues to do their job well. The distribution record from April to September is about 400,000 meals, and we will work to distribute 600,000 meals in the remaining six months.
In Bangladesh's education system, the new semester starts in January and ends in December. At the end of the year, from December to January every year, student attendance tended to drop significantly, and cookie distribution did not go as expected. In order to continue distributing cookies, we will build a system to check the number of stocks and the number of distributions every week and continue distribution.

2. Start distributing cookies at new schools

This time, 1,500 new students participated in this program, bringing the total number of students to about 6,500. The average attendance rate in slums is not as high as in Japan, so we assume about 80%. In this case, the number of distributions per day is calculated to be about 5,200 meals.

In September, the office of the GENKI program will move from the Gulshan area at the time of its establishment to the Grameen Tower in the Milpool area. Most of the target schools are scattered around Mirpur, which enables more efficient work.
In addition, I decided to work together with my colleagues in the Mung Bean Project in the same office, and I became a big family at once. The building containing the office also houses the Grameen Group, which is led by Dr. Yunus, Chairman of Euglena We look forward to seeing you at the new office at Grameen Tower.

JICA and JETRO representatives from Tokyo to Bangladesh visited the GENKI program. We actually went to school together and gave an overview of the GENKI program. We also interacted with the children by handing them Euglena
Children are very happy to welcome visitors from Japan when they visit the school. Recently, more and more children are actively asking questions than before. After having a conversation about animals, food, and sports in each country, the children had a good time by presenting their own drawings to the inspection team.
